Amazon has released the Blink XT2, the next-generation of Blink’s XT surveillance camera that was released in later 2016. The all-brand-new Blink XT2 is built with a new chips, gives new and better features such as two-way audio, adjustable and enhanced motion detection over the original, live view recording and will record a total of 80,000 mere seconds of video on a single set of 1.5v AA lithium batteries (compared to 40,000 secs of the XT), helping consumers to use it twice as much and still enjoy the same 2-season battery life. If you already have a Blink XT system the new XT2 will work with your existing Blink System as it functions with the same hardware as earlier Sync Modules. You can have up to 10 Blink devices per sync module provided that they are all within the 100ft operating range of the sync module in any direction. For those who have an existing Blink system, just use the add device function in the Blink App to add XT2. If you are new to Blink, you have to pre-order one of the system configurations.
The Blink XT2 look specifically the same size as XT except a gray ring around the lens and a thin gray frame/range on the face of the camera body and is labeled XT2 on the back. The new XT2 uses a newly styled mount that allows the camera to reach customizable angles more easily. So, you can’t utilize the same mounting bracket as the initial Blink XT.
